Orlando Vacations Are Hot
The American city of Orlando, Florida is probably the busiest in the whole of the USA with Orlando
vacations catering for theme park addicts, but there are many other attractions to please visitors. Orlando also has markets, shows, art
galleries, exhibitions, beautiful lakes and parks, all easily available for the visitor who wants something a little different. The city has been
attracting tourists for a long time and justifiably so as it has just about everything the visitor could want.
It is a great place to visit even if you only have shopping on your mind as Orlando area is full of
beautiful shopping malls, restaurants and shops of every type. The city has its own charming identity and attractions but the majority of people
taking an Orlando vacation arrive here in order to visit possibly the happiest place on earth.
To start, there is the Central Florida Zoo which draws huge crowds all year round and has over four hundred animals there although it is was
only granted this status in 1975. The zoo has a charity status and is dedicated to the preservation of all exotic animals, including those that
are only found in Florida.
Back in 1942, the Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park started exhibiting the world's most extensive
collection of the works of Louis Comfort Tiffany. For aficionados of Tiffany art, this is the place to visit with the largest display anywhere in
the world, including jewelry, paintings, glass, pottery and ornaments.
Whilst Orlando may appear on the surface to be a town designed for the entertainment of children that could
not be farther from the truth with adults equally well looked after. For the young at heart, Orlando vacations aim to please with extensive
evening venues including music and dance at Disney's incredible Pleasure Island and Universals version, City walk, to name just a couple of
places.
The Orlando Science Center is another of the major attractions and its four-story center is the biggest of
its kind in the Southeast; offering 10 exhibit halls that allow visitors everything from the Florida swamplands to the dry plains of Mars. The
International Trolley and Train Museum has fourteen trains running simultaneously in mountains, wilderness and urban areas; including three
waterfalls that use 12,000 gallons of water per hour.
If you have seen the Titanic-ship of Dreams film then you will enjoy the exhibition along International
Drive that tells the story using large sets and depictions from the ship as a background. Of course if you prefer something more relaxing then
you should visit Lake Eola Park, situated in the heart of downtown; this is the city's main attraction with 43 acres of beautiful sidewalks and a
boating lake.
Of course how could anyone possibly visit Orlando without a visit to at least one theme park; and for those
of you who are unsure Disney has four; not including the water parks; Universal has its own versions including Seaworld. The good weather in
Orlando means vacations are normally enjoyable throughout the year; it can be very busy during some of the major holidays.
